300 grams minced beef
1 medium onion
250 mls instant gravy
500 grams potatoes
60 mls cream
25 grms butter
Chop the onion. Heat a large frying pan, add the mince, it should sizzle and begin to brown immediately, break up and cook until brown on all sides.
Add the onion and cook until soft, if the mixture starts to burn, add a little oil.
When the onion is soft add the gravy, turn down the heat and simmer for about 15 minutes.
Peel the potatoes and cut into small cubes, put in a separate pan, cover with water and boil, when boiling add salt, reduce the heat and simmer until tender enough to mash.
Place the meat (which should now be cooked into an oven proof dish.
Drain the potatoes and mash thoroughly with the butter and cream.
Spread on top of the meat*
Bake at 180oC for 20-25 minutes, until the top is beginning to brown.
